![]() My next step was to continue filling in the sky with a layer of Light Aqua. This light green color will add the nice rich green hue which we see in the photograph. I used a medium pressure throughout the entire sky. The sky showing through in the lower right of the photo is a lighter blue because of the sun filtering through the trees. Later, I will add darker colors of blue near the top to intensify that area, and I will keep the lower area lighter. ![]() Electric Blue was the next color added. I used the same technique as before: medium, even pressure, each line drawn vertically with a very sharp pencil. This view shows my progress halfway, in order to demonstrate how the next layer is slightly blending the first two layers together. The right side of the drawing is still Aqua and the left is with the new Electric Blue layer added. Notice that the color is starting to fill in the gaps and look smoother ... less like crayolas. ![]() In this view, the addition of Electric Blue has been completed. The sky is looking more brilliant and closer to the color in the reference photograph. The upper portion is much darker in the photo, so several more layers of darker pencils will be added to create the desired affect. I did not add this new blue color to a few areas in the bottom right corner, where the sky is to remain lighter. For now, I've left those areas with the aqua color.
